If you are a mother or know of a mother suffering with a postpartum mental illness (or any mental illness postpartum or not) Please, please. Seek help.
This illness isn’t you and you are not this illness. This can be treated.
You are not a monster or a lost cause.
If you have thoughts about harming yourself or your child. Please confide in someone trustworthy and let them know what you are thinking and how you are feeling.
Although it feels like you are alone I want you to know that many moms have also suffered with these thoughts. I urge you to speak up!
(It is terryfying, I know)

If you feel like you are falling apart at the seams and need immediate help please go to your nearest mental health crisis center, call your obstetrician/doctor or head to the nearest emergency room.
I will reiterate. You are not a monster.
This is an illness. The brain can get sick. Just like any other organ in the body.
You will be well again mama.
